Kagyu Rime Dharjay Choling
|

Welcome to Kagyu Rime Dharjay Choling, a website which supports the work of His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche. His Eminence is a recognised teacher in the Karma Kagyu lineage, and a Rime Master which promotes non sectarianism.
His Holiness 16th Gywala Karmapa appointed Rinpoche as his representative for Australia and New Zealand in 1979. Rinpoche then visited both countries in which he established centres, and holds the position of Spiritual Director. After this visit, HH Karmapa asked him to appoint a resident teacher for the New Zealand centre, Karma Choling. In 1981 Rinpoche sent Karma Samten as a resident lama and Karma Shedrup as his translator.
The centre has developed, however this has not been in accordance with His Eminence’s wishes or in the spirit of his non sectarian teachings. The resident lamas have chosen to pursue a direction of personal gain, rather than promote the teachings for the benefit of all.
This was evident during a recent visit to both Australia and New Zealand in 2003, where neither of these centres would host Rinpoche. Karma Samten and Karma Shedrup distributed information about Rinpoche that was incorrect and told the Karma Kagyu students not to attend his teachings. The purpose of this has been to maintain the position created by the resident lamas and to promote sectarianism within the lineage. Rinpoche is concerned at the damage this is causing to both the Karma Kagyu lineage and the Buddhist teachings in these countries.
This site presents information that shows the course of action that Rinpoche has taken, to ensure that the Karma Kagyu tradition is preserved in these countries in accordance with HH Karmapa’s wishes, and therefore to be of benefit to all sentient beings.
